Pulau
Lang
Depth: 6m – 30m
Level: Beginners to Advance |
| |
It’s
a small island situated on the entrance to Pulau Dayang
& Pulau Aur. And most of the time, the Captain of the
boat would use this island to navigate their way to Pulau
Dayang as there is a Light House stationed on top of Pulau
Lang.
Generally,
the condition of the water is calm with wind blowing either
ways near the monsoon periods and causing it to be totally
open to wind’s destructions. During the normal days,
the Lang Bay is sheltered from strong currents and it’s
a good check out site for new and experienced divers.
The
depth could start as shallow as 6 meters and gradually sloping
outwards to about 30 meters! Sandy bottoms, lots of Rocks
formations and hard corals can be seen everywhere. Expected
to spot Blue-Spotted Ribbon Rays, Cuttlefishes, Barracudas,
Titan Triggerfishes and lots of Anemone with Clown Fishes
guarding them! |

Rayner’s
Rock
Depth: 10m – 30m
Level: Beginners to Advance
|
 |
| |
These
rocks formation is situated at the mouth of the Channel
between Pulau Aur and Pulau Dayang. Most of the Advanced
Course conducts the Deep Adventure here as the Rock formations
and the gradient of the slope can help divers reach down
to the Deep easily. As the Rocks for formed in the open,
you can expect some strong currents during the tide changes.
This
site belongs to more experienced divers as the depth at
most of the Rock formations slope down to more than 20 meters.
Beginners would not be enjoying so much in hanging mid water
to keep to their 18 meters depth. And secondly, the current
might be stronger than expected as it’s situated in
the open area. Some of the experiences from the beginners
are that they used up their air within 20 minutes of their
dive.
It’s
a good opportunity to dive at this site during the end of
the year as sighting of White Manta Rays and Whale Sharks
has been reported here! Some of the Pelagics and well-known
Humphead Parrotfish are a common sighting too. |
